The “white-hat” hacker responsible for the Prisma Finance breach has made a demand for a live press conference, urging the confirmation of their identity.
This demand arose amidst criticism directed at the hacker for utilizing Tornado Cash to transfer 1,840 ETH (equivalent to approximately $6.5 million), a tactic commonly associated with malicious attacks rather than white-hat operations.
Despite utilizing Tornado Cash for fund laundering, the individual asserted that their actions aimed to unveil vulnerabilities within Prisma Finance, challenging the platform’s team to publicly acknowledge their oversights.
In their latest on-chain message, the hacker urged the Prisma Finance team to reveal their true identities in an online conference and issue apologies to users and investors.
Additionally, the hacker insisted on Prisma Finance refraining from attributing any fault to them and demanded alterations to accusatory language in the platform’s communications within a 12-hour timeframe.
While negotiations for the return of stolen funds have been ongoing, the hacker emphasized that all discussions would proceed solely after the completion of the online conference.
Prisma Finance, a stablecoin protocol, suffered a breach earlier this week, resulting in losses of nearly $11.6 million. The attacker received funds from FixedFloat and swiftly deployed a malicious contract to execute the breach.
