BNB Chain, powered by the BNB token, has launched a rollup service aimed at facilitating the development of layer-2 blockchains on its network.
Unveiled on March 14, the rollup-as-a-service (RaaS) solution provides projects with the necessary technical infrastructure to deploy layer-2 networks on BNB Chain, thereby expanding the ecosystem.
Aligned with our 2024 Roadmap, BNB Chain is spearheading growth in gaming, DeFi, AI, and more by offering Rollup-as-a-Service infrastructure. 🛠️
Developers can now easily deploy rollups across sectors with no-code options and seamless management. 🧑💻

The service supports decentralized applications (DApps), enabling various project verticals like blockchain gaming and decentralized finance to leverage layer-2 networks. Additionally, BNB Chain offers rollup management support and a “no-code” deployment option for projects less familiar with coding.
These layer-2 networks, established through BNB Chain’s RaaS service, will be built on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC), described as the “foundational layer-1 blockchain and governance chain.”
The BNB Chain core development team sees this initiative as part of their commitment to driving mass adoption of Web3 technology. They emphasized the comprehensive toolkit provided to developers for building efficient and scalable layer-2 solutions on BSC by combining RaaS with the ecosystem’s interconnectivity capabilities.
BNB Chain’s focus on layer-2 networks dates back to 2023 when it introduced opBNB, a layer-2 scaling solution based on the Optimism OP Stack, on a testnet. This solution, compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, allows integration with Ethereum-based smart contracts and token standards.
After a successful testnet run, opBNB was deployed onto the mainnet on September 13, handling over 35 million transactions and 150 DApps. BNB Chain reported achieving 4,000 transactions per second (TPS) during a stress test.
The introduction of the rollup service aligns with BNB Chain’s objectives outlined in its “BNB Chain 2024 Outlook,” released on January 31. This outlook introduces the “One BNB” interconnectivity concept, aiming to link BSC with its decentralized storage service, BNB Greenfield.
