The announcement of the CMC Crypto Awards underscores CoinMarketCap’s enduring significance in the cryptocurrency sphere and its dedication to the community. This inaugural event will be held virtually from February 21st to March 6th.
The CMC Crypto Awards will highlight achievements across a broad spectrum, including mainstream cryptocurrencies, meme coins, NFTs, gaming initiatives, and DeFi projects. Additionally, it acknowledges the contributions of bridges, Layer 1 and Layer 2 solutions, and cross-chain projects.
The awards will feature eight distinct categories:
- Crypto of the Year with nominees Ripple, Solana, Chainlink, Ethereum, Toncoin
- Meme Coin of the Year with nominees Pepe, Milady, Memecoin, Bonk, ORDI
- Most Innovative NFT and Gaming Project with nominees Blur, Pudgy Penguins, BendDAO, Big Time, Immutable
- Most Innovative DeFi Project with nominees Uniswap, UniBot, EigenLayer, MakerDAO, Friend.Tech
- Bridge Builder of the Year with nominees BlackRock, PayPal, Starbucks, Nike, Reddit
- Social Influencer/KOL to Watch with nominees LookOnChain, ZachXBT, CryptosRUs, Wendy O, The DeFi Edge
- Crypto Leader of the Year with nominees Changpeng Zhao, Ryan Selkis, Vitalik Buterin, Brian Armstrong, Julia Leung
- Most Innovative L1/L2/Cross-Chain Project with nominees Arbitrum, Axelar, zkSync Era, Celestia, Aptos
Starting February 22nd, nominees for these awards will be announced daily on CoinMarketCap’s website and social media channels, inviting community participation in the voting process until March 3rd. The winners, determined based on CoinMarketCap’s data, expert evaluation, and community feedback, will be unveiled on March 6.
Rush Luton, CEO of CoinMarketCap, expressed enthusiasm for the event, envisioning it as the premier annual celebration of Crypto and Web3. He likened it to the “Oscars of Crypto,” aiming to unite the industry and honor those driving innovation forward.
CoinMarketCap has enlisted the support of major players in the Web3 space to host the event, including BingX, Animoca Brands, Binance, Trust Wallet, Coinbase, Chainwire, Zeebu, and ICP Hubs Network.
